But, let me back up a bit...so much has happened in the past month & Jack and Luke are getting so big! The most notable thing is that they are both smiling and cooing! It's so fun! Jack will smile at the wall, but you have to work for Luke's smiles: he wants you to earn them from him! We also had their 4 month appointment last week (an oral vaccine + 4 more shots for each of them!), so I've included some updates here from that as well.
First up, our oldest boy, Jack. At 4 months he:
*wears size 1-2 diapers, and wears size 3 month clothes
*Eats 5 ounces every 3-3 1/2 hours during the day
*Eats bottle at 6:30, in bed by 7 (that's the goal), dreamfeed at 10, and then only wakes up ONE TIME at night to eat (yea!!!), usually around 2 or 3 am. We are working on weaning him from this feed though, as he never acts that hungry in the morning, even if he goes 5-6 hours since the middle of the night feed.
*LOVES to smile
*Has good head control & can sit up if you hold his hands. Is getting to like standing up if you hold his hands
*Still likes the swing and has come to LOVE the bouncer. Is undecided about the bumbo. :o)
*Still likes his paci & has recently gotten attached to his giraffe lovey
*After his dr appt, we were given permission to start rice cereal 1x/day, and Jack really liked it the first time--he made a huge mess (this video of it makes me laugh every time!) & got it all over his face! He's still trying to figure out how to eat with a spoon; it's so cute to watch his little tongue go at it!
*At his 4 month appt: Jack weighed 13 lbs, 6 oz; was 23 1/2 inches tall. This puts him in the 10%ile for height and 15%ile for weight. He's come a long way since his 2 month appt when he was barely in the 1%ile--so we're very pleased!
*Jack's head is a bit, um, shall we say, misshappen, b/c he keeps sleeping on one side, so we're taking him to an occupational therapist to try and fix that. The hope is to avoid the helmet (especially since we found out insurance won't cover the cost of a helmet!)

Next up, Luke. At 4 months he:

*Will smile for you, but not as readily as Jack. Smiles the most after he's slept for 2+ hours. So apparently, this boy is like his mom & needs his sleep!
*Has good head control & can sit up & stand up. His favorite is to stand with you holding his hands--he would do this for hours if he could!
*Still likes the swing and has come to LOVE the bouncer. Is also undecided about the bumbo. :o)
*Will only take his paci when being rocked before bedtime. Otherwise, he has discovered his thumb and would rather suck on that (which is actually nice b/c we don't have to worry about having to go get the paci when it falls out to pop it back in!)
*He has recently gotten attached to his monkey lovey.
*After his dr appt, we were given permission to start rice cereal 1x/day with him as well, and Luke didn't really like it the first time. But by day 3, he liked it & was eating it really well from the spoon!
*At his 4 month appt: Luke weighed 13 lbs, 15 oz; was 24 1/4 inches tall. This puts him in the 25%ile for height and weight. He's come a long way since his 2 month appt when he was in the 3%ile--so he's definitely a growing boy!

So much has changed in the past month (and I hope I"m not jinxing us or speaking too soon) but things have gotten soooo much easier! We couldn't have survived these past few crazy months without the support and help of family and friends--especially our moms: "Grammie" & "Nana"--thank you both for ALL you've done to help with Jack & Luke!!
UPDATE: Since posting this, Jack and Luke are now SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT and no longer need a dreamfeed at 10pm! So that means they now drink 5 six ounce bottles a day, and once we get them in bed at 7pm, they are down for the night!! WOW!!! :o)
